During nearly two decades at Siemens Healthcare and Siemens AG, Eckhard developed extensive management and technology expertise, contributing significantly to the company’s success in roles such as “Head of Innovation and IP Management” in the Computed Tomography Business Unit, “Director of Corporate Strategy” at the company’s headquarters in Munich, “CEO Siemens Corporate Technology” in Qatar, “Principal Healthcare Consulting”, and as “Senior Director of Corporate Strategy Development” at the Siemens Healthineers headquarters in Erlangen. Eckhard is the first and co-author of over 20 international publications, and his inventions have led to 35 mostly internationally granted patents.

Dr. Bernd Siehler, CTO

Position Chief Technology Officer
Title MSc, PhD
Description Bernd Siehler gained his initial professional experience at Robert Bosch GmbH in the development center in Schwieberdingen as an Electronics Technician. He first encountered medical technology and hospitals while serving as an Emergency Medical Technician for the German Red Cross in Ludwigsburg. His technical studies in Civil Engineering took him from Stuttgart to Jakarta, Indonesia, and Cardiff, UK-Wales, where he earned a Master of Science in “International Project Management.” He completed his PhD at the University of South Wales on “European contractors as global players towards the new millennium,” with a global perspective focusing on Europe/Southeast Asia, in the year 2000. Subsequently, he began his career at Siemens in Munich in the central development department “Corporate Technology” for production processes as an “internal consultant.” At “Mobility,” he was responsible for the implementation of SAP and general processes and configuration management for the high-speed train “Velaro E” across various locations in Germany and Spain. The next step took him to Siemens Medical Technology. He successfully led what is considered the most challenging medical project, “Particle Therapy” (radiation therapy, cancer treatment with high-energy positive ions), on-site in Marburg and Shanghai. The “Lean Management Method” was always a focal point for successful project completion, with the Shanghai project serving as a “lean lighthouse project.” This approach was also applied during the revamp of the paint shop in Kemnath during ongoing production. His subsequent projects included working in the Diagnostics sector, such as prototype construction in Kemnath for “Atellica Solutions” (immunodiagnostics and chemistry analyzers) manufacturing in Flanders, USA, and leading the establishment of a new production facility for Reagents in Shanghai with a technology transfer from Walpole-Boston, USA. He was also involved in the realization of an automated filling line for PCR test kits in Marburg.
